Internetworking Technology

I nternetworking Technology is a two-year program designed to prepare students for entering the Information Technology Workforce. Program objectives align with business and industry job tasks and CompTIA/Microsoft Certification Exams, such as:

  • A+
  • Network+
  • Server+
  • Linux+
  • Windows XP Professional
  • Windows 2003 Server
  • Windows 2003 Network Environment
  • Security+

First Year: Students will learn how to diagnose, repair, configure, install hardware/operating systems, and troubleshoot/upgrade personal computers. Given a set of new computer parts, students will upgrade workstations for the classroom and the lab. First-year students will also learn how to install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware, protocols, and services.

Second Year: Students will learn advanced methods of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting workstation/server/network operating systems and hardware. Second-year students will also learn how to secure workstation, server, and network hardware/operating systems (Communication Security, Physical Security, Operational/Organizational Security, Disaster Recovery, Risk Assessment and Mitigation, Access Control, Cryptography, etc.).
