Review course brochures and determine whether you
want to enroll in a Full-Time Program or an Adult Career Development
Course.
Continue with this checklist if you want to
enroll in a Full-Time Program (Note: If you want to enroll in Practical Nursing or Surgical Technology, please contact the Health Careers office at ext. 259 or ext. 238)
For other courses, contact the ACD office
at ext. 201 or ext. 205 for enrollment information.
Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete your financial aid application electronically (the school code for SOTC is 010342). For more information or assistance call the Financial Aid Coordinator at ext. 235.
Complete an enrollment form and pay the fee for Pre-Admissions Assessment. Call ext. 201 or 204 for information regarding assessment dates and fees. If you have an ACT score of 19 or above, you will not need to take the Pre-Admissions Assessment for most full-time programs. Bring your ACT results and high school transcript, diploma, or GED to the Coordinator of Student Services.
Obtain a copy of your high school transcript, diploma, or GED and bring it with you to Pre-Admissions Assessment (if you do not have a diploma, you must request “Ability to Benefit Form” from the Assessment Coordinator). Note: In order to receive Federal Financial Aid you must have a high school diploma or GED or pass the Ability to Benefit test.
Following your assessment, the Assessment Specialist will interpret your results to you.
When your financial aid application is complete, you will receive an Application for Admission from the Financial Aid Coordinator or Coordinator of Student Services. (If your financial aid application is not complete, contact the Financial Aid Coordinator at ext. 235 and complete it before receiving an Application for Admission.)
Complete the Application for Admission and submit it to the Adult Advisor, Coordinator of Student Services, or Counselor and schedule an admissions interview.
After the interview, the Coordinator of Student Services will review your Assessment, Application for Admission, and Interview documentation. You will receive a phone call or a letter stating your status:
Enrolled with a definite start date designated
Placed on a waiting list with a projected
start date
Referred to tutorials and placed on a waiting
list
If you do not receive notification within
15 days of completing the application process, please call the
Registrar at ext. 204.
You must contact the Registrar at ext. 204 within 10 days after receipt of notification letter concerning your decision and acceptance of enrollment status. (If Registrar is not contacted within 10 days, SOTC assumes that the applicant has declined acceptance of enrollment status.)
